History of the Centre
The Centre is in the original St Luke's Church, one of the oldest buildings on the peninsula, dating back to 1902. The building was opened as the Woy Woy Environment Centre in 1988 by Tim Moore, NSW Minister for the Environment. The restoration of the heritage-listed building was funded by Gosford Council and the NSW Government for the Bicentennial Project.
